AUSTIN WOOLARD, FNP-C
Austin is a certified family nurse practitioner passionate about providing holistic care to those he treats. Before moving to Lewiston, he worked as a registered nurse for 8 years in many areas of healthcare: home health and hospice, IV chemotherapy, intensive care units, the operating room and emergency department.
Throughout his time in healthcare, he noticed a consistent theme. The system is failing the very people it is supposed to help. People get hurried in and hurried out. The responsibility kept getting passed from one cog in the system to another, often leaving the patient frustrated, scared, and feeling overwhelmed at the machine they found themselves navigating.
He founded Acacia Primary Care to practice primary care the way it was always intended to be, to provide an affordable solution to the marked up prices in healthcare, and to fulfill the needs that people expect from their healthcare provider. Through the direct primary care model, he endeavors for his patients to genuinely know and be known by their primary care provider.
Our name "Acacia" comes from time spent serving a two-year-long church service mission in Kenya. While there, he gained a love for the people and an appreciation of a saying "Haraka, haraka haina baraka," which means, "Hurry, hurry, brings no blessings." Austin brings that same philosophy in how he approaches patient care, striving to slow down to truly show care and bless another's life.
Outside of the office, Austin enjoys spending time with his four rambunctious children and beautiful wife by taking in nature on hikes, going swimming, or traveling to previously unseen landmarks.
